I were up early yesterday morning so i decided to make the most of the day and head out for a run over the moors from Glossop to Edale and back.
With plenty of warm and waterproof gear packed to make sure that i did not get cold and too wet in the showers forecast i started off slowly heading for the north west edge of Kinder Scout.
The clag was soon in and visibility was poor. Map and compass to hand as i ran towards Kinder downfall.
The downfall was damp and i did not stay long as the windchill would have taken effect.
Heading down the Jacobs ladder on the slippery gritstone and then over to Edale to the National Trust Penny Pot cafe for a quick break after a few hours running. The local robin was eyeing up my soup and bread.
A slow start back up to Kinder downfall and the clag finally started to clear. I could now see a distant Manchester in one direction and Holme moss mast (Yorkshire) in the other direction.
A long and damp day out on the hill to build stamina for future plans later in the year. Very much worth it.
